Acquittal sought for officers in bar association head killing case
The prosecutor has requested the acquittal of three police officers who have been tried without detention in the ongoing trial on the 2015 killing of Tahir Elçi, the former head of the Diyarbakır Bar Association.

The Bar Association said in a statement that citizenship "expresses a legal and political bond and commitment to the state", and that putting a financial value upon it "has made the concept of citizenship abstract and alienated it from its essence".

38-day-old baby dies from sexual abuse, physical violence in Turkey's Van
A 38-day-old baby in the eastern province of Van has died after being sexually and physically abused, while the mother and two men were arrested over the incident on Jan. 30.
