Bulgaria's Border Police Announces Recruitment for 400 New Positions
The Main Directorate "Border Police" has announced a recruitment drive for 400 new employees. This is part of a larger effort to fill an additional 1,264 positions within the police force that have recently been approved.
Dacic: Our cooperation with German police contributes to European security
BELGRADE - Serbian Interior Minister Ivica Dacic said on Friday a new German donation of vehicles and equipment would help Serbia's border police perform their daily tasks and border control and surveillance even more efficiently in the future.
Dacic said this after the donation was handed over to the Border Police Directorate.
Second Day of Truck Queues at Bulgarian-Turkish Border
For a second day a freight traffic towards Turkey has been intense the Border Police Directorate reported, quoted by BNR. The queue of trucks in the direction of Turkey at the border checkpoint of Kapitan Andreevo has reached 6 km, while the queue at the Lesovo checkpoint is 3 km long.
Two border crossings with Hungary closed
Border crossings of Horgos and Backi Vinogradi with Hungary in northern Serbia have been closed.
The Automobile and Motorcycle Association of Serbia (AMSS) announced this on Wednesday morning, quoting the Border Police Directorate.

Germany - top of list for asylum seekers from Serbia
BELGRADE - Citizens of Serbia most often seek asylum in Germany, Jelena Vasiljevic, assistant to the Border Police Directorate head, stated on Thursday.
Vasiljevic told Belgrade-based TV Pink that according to the 2014 data around 16,000 citizens of Serbia have sought asylum in Germany, around 1,500 in Sweden and around a hundred in the territories of Belgium and Switzerland.

Skimming Devices Smuggling Attempt Prevented at Bulgaria's Border
An attempted smuggling of skimming devices has been prevented at Bulgaria's border checkpoint Vidin - Danube Bridge, the press center of the Interior Ministry said.
The electronic devices have been seized from a Bulgarian registered car in a joint operation conducted on July 10 by the Border Police Directorate, State Agency National Security (DANS) and the Customs office in Vidin.
