Bulgarian Navy Enhances Capabilities with New Autonomous Underwater Vehicles

The Hydrographic Office of the Bulgarian Naval Forces has welcomed the arrival of two Teledyne Gavia autonomous underwater vehicles (UUVs). This acquisition is part of a program initiated by the US Department of Defense aimed at enhancing the defense capabilities of allied nations, following a contract established with the Bulgarian Ministry of Defense.

The Bulgarian Ministry of Defense will provide aid to Ukraine of 5,000 sets of winter clothing and 5,000 pairs of shoes.

The humanitarian aid provided through the Ground Forces contains: 5,000 half-coats with lining, 5,000 leggings with lining, 5,000 long-sleeved shirts, 5,000 hats, 5,000 pairs of shoes.

BNR: Bulgarian Ministry of Defense Launches Drone Delivery Tender

Sources from the Bulgarian Ministry of Defense have reported that a tender for the delivery of drones for the army was announced in the last days of 2019. The value of the contract would be about 13 million euros. Invitation for participation in the contest has been sent to 24 companies from the USA, Israel, Italy, Bulgaria and other countries, BNR reported.

Russia will Provide Logistics for the Bulgarian MiG-29 until 2022

The Bulgarian Defense Ministry chose the Russian MiG Aircraft Corporation to provide the Air Force with the integrated logistics service for its 15 MiG-29 fighters for the next 48 months, Jane's 360 reports.

Bulgarian Defense Minister Krassimir Karakachanov signed the agreement on March 6 after talks with the Russian company ended on February 16th.
