Bulgarian Prosecution Accuses Two Nationalist Ataka MPs of Hooliganism

The Bulgarian Prosecutor's Office accused on Tuesday two nationalist Ataka MPs of hooliganism.

The accused MPs are the leader of Ataka, Volen Siderov, and his fellow party member Desislav Chukolov.

In the past month, the two have been involved in a series of incidents in the area of the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts (NATFIZ) in downtown Sofia.

Bulgarian Prosecutors Resubmit Indictment against Sigma Police Officers

The Bulgarian Prosecutor's Office has submitted the indictment against the chief of a Sofia police unit and six of its members to the Specialized Criminal Court, officials say.

Prosecutors allege they were involved in an organized criminal gang which had been active from December 2012 to the summer of last year when they were detained.

Bulgarian Police Finds New Body Near Pasarel Village

The Bulgarian police found on Friday a new corpse in the lake near the village of Dolni Pasarel, where previously the body of a five-year-old boy had been discovered in a suitcase in March.

The body found on Friday was in such advanced stage of decomposition that even the gender of the corpse could not be identified, private NOVA TV reports.

Bulgarian Prosecution Charges Russian with Murder of Child Found in Suitcase

The Bulgarian Prosecutor's Office charged on Friday the Russian citizen German Kostin with the murder of the five-year-old Nikita Leontyev, whose body was found in a suitcase near the village of Pasarel in March.

According to the prosecution, the death of the child was caused through suffocation between February 8 and 10, the website of the prosecutor's office informs.

Bulgaria, Switzerland to Cooperate on Raising Motivation of Prosecutors

Bulgarian Prosecutor General Sotir Tsatsarov presented on Friday a project on "increasing the integrity and motivation of prosecutors in the context of the new challenges presented to the fight against organised crime".

His Excellency Denis Knobel, Swiss Ambassador to Bulgaria, also took part in the presentation, daily Dnevnik reports.

Bulgarian Prosecutor's Office Drops Charges Against Former Interior Minister

Bulgarian Prosecutor's Office has decided to drop the charges against former Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov regarding the use of surveillance practices.

The official accusation stated that Tsvetanov and his underlings had not used the authority to impose monitoring on criminal suspects.

Police 'Arrested Four' over BGN 206 M Withdrawn from KTB in Sacks

Four people were detained as part of an ongoing investigation into the reportedly illicit withdrawal of BGN 206 M from the Corporate Commercial Bank (KTB), media reports say.  

Citing "its own" sources, the Bulgarian National Radio disputes previous information from the Bulgarian Prosecutor's Office, which announced Friday that only two people were arrested.
