Stefanovic: Information was disclosed over extended period

BELGRADE - A senior Criminal Police Administration official who is now in the hands of the investigative authorities had been collaborating with agents of a Western intelligence service for an extended period of time, rather than only a few months, Serbian Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic said Tuesday.

Lazarevic indicted for disclosing secrets to Saric's group

BELGRADE - The Serbian Prosecutor's Office for Organised Crime on Monday indicted Branko Lazarevic, former head of the interior minister's office, and three other men for disclosing police information on tracking and wiretapping of the group led by Darko Saric, charged with cocaine trafficking and money laundering.

Probe Launched into Serbia Power Monopoly

The Serbian Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime has ordered the police to investigate allegations of wrongdoings in the state-run power company, EPS.

The allegations are contained in a report of the Anti-Corruption Council and concern "substantial discrepancies in the quantities of electricity imported and exported by the public company EPS from 2010 to 2012".

Five suspects in Univerzal banka case detained

BELGRADE - The Belgrade police, the Criminal Police Administration and the Department for combating corporate crime have placed five persons in detention up to 48 hours on suspicion of abuse of office at Univerzal banka.

They are suspected of having acquired illicit gains totalling around EUR 1.35 million and RSD 402 million, a statement from the Interior Ministry said.
