The chairman of the PMP (People's Movement Party, opposition, ed. n.) Eugen Tomac says that the PSD (Social Democratic Party, major at rule, ed. n.) is leaving behind a "scorched country", pointing out that "Romania is battling in statistics with banana republics in infrastructure."

Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) Liviu Dragnea denied on Friday, prior to the PSD's National Executive Committee (CExN) meeting, that he will propose the exclusion from the party of those who challenged him.

The Government of Romania is determined to endorse the film industry and filmmakers are invited to produce co-productions through the state aid scheme, Deputy Prime Minister Ana Birchall said at Ischia Global Film & Music Fest.

The Joint Chambers of Parliament rejected on Wednesday the motion of no-confidence "Ousting the Dragnea - Dancila government, a national emergency!", signed by the National Liberal Party (PNL), Save Romania Union (USR) and People Movement's Party (PMP).

The vote tally counted 166 votes for the motion and 4 against.

Save Romania Union (USR) leader Dan Barna stated on Wednesday in Parliament's plenum that his party will vote for the no-confidence motion, the only way forward into Europe, highlighting that our country urgently needs a competent government, "not a puppet one, at the service of a convicted criminal."

Premier Viorica Dancila's message this Wednesday to the initiators of the no-confidence motion was that when they could no longer deny the pension and wage rises initiated by the government, they "took issue with the physical aspect, hairdo or clothing style of their political opponents."

Former Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos says snap elections "are the only way to re-legitimize the political class," adding that Dancila Government must go away because "it is incompetent and a disgrace for Romanian professionals."

President Klaus Iohannis stated, on Friday, that he is withdrawing his trust in Prime Minister Viorica Dnacila, claiming that she cannot handle the position of Prime Minister.

In context, the head of state publicly requested the resignation of Viorica Dancila.
