NOVI SAD - The electoral commission of Serbia's northern Autonomous Province of Vojvodina has adopted a consolidated report on the final results of the December 17/30 elections for the Vojvodina Assembly.

ZAGREB - The president of Croatia's Serb National Council, Milorad Pupovac, who is also the leader of the Independent Democratic Serb Party, signed with Serbian Human Rights Minister Tomislav Zigmanov, who is also the leader of the Democratic Alliance of Croats in Vojvodina, a declaration on cooperation between Serbs in Croatia and Croats in Serbia.

After previously saying they saw no reason for it, North Macedonia's main ruling Social Democrats on Monday offered to support an opposition resolution on the country's language and identity in regards to ongoing talks with neighbouring Bulgaria.

Several smaller parliamentary parties from all sides of the political spectrum in North Macedonia, supported by the main ruling Social Democrats, on Friday filed a fresh draft to change the election system and encourage more political diversity.

Romanian police have arrested a 30-year-old man from Bacau County in northeast Romania for defacing Hungarian-language signs in four towns in neighbouring Harghita County, the Romanian news agency Mediafax reported on Monday.

Ethnic Hungarians account for 85 per cent of the population in Harghita County, and the vandalism of the signs had caused local tensions.

Bucharest, May 25 /Agerpres/ - The electoral campaign for the European Parliament elections ended on Saturday at 7.00 hrs. For thirty days, the parties that entered the race for a spot in the European Parliament, but also some independent candidates tried to convince the electorate that they are worthy to represent Romania in Brussels.

President of UMDR's (Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania) Women Organisation on Saturday stated that among the eligible candidates of this party for the European Parliament there must be at least one woman.

Democratic Alliance leader Fofi Gennimata on Thursday submitted in Parliament a proposal for legislation that would revoke a scheduled further set of cuts to pensions in January 2019. 

The Communist Party is also submitted an amendment seeking the revocation of the same planned cuts. 

The moves come as party leaders prepare for a debate on post-bailout austerity in Greece. 

The president, who met with a delegation from the Alliance of Associations of the Families of Captured and Missing Croatian Defenders, told them that state bodies of Serbia will do everything to achieve visible progress in finding missing persons and shedding light on their fate, Beta agency reported.
