Bulgaria's veteran politician Borisov seeks third time lucky

Bulgaria's veteran political bruiser Boyko Borisov has begun efforts to form a lasting government and become prime minister for the third time following his election victory. 

His pro-EU center-right GERB party won the snap election in the European Union's poorest country with 32.6 percent of the ballot.

Bulgaria President-Elect Got Most of UK, US Expats' Vote

Bulgarian President-elect Rumen Radev has gained support from the vast majority of UK- and US-based voters, official data shows.

With 94.77% of ballot protocols outside Bulgaria having been processed, Radev has won 52.04% of the overall expat vote, while his opponent Tsetska Tsacheva has received some 43.75%, the Central Election Committee (CEC) says.

As Bulgarians are heading to the polls on Sunday, they will vote for President based on what they saw and heard in five weeks of campaigning.

Support from parties and candidates who fared well in the election's first round, however, may also play a part in this decision as some of these have endorsed or indicated preference for either of the candidates.
