Varoufakis urges Greeks to 'defend democracy' by voting
Yanis Varoufakis, the leader of the Democracy in Europe Movement 2025 (DiEM25) and former finance minister, urged Greeks to vote in the general elections on Sunday, saying it is the only way to defend democracy.

Yanis Varoufakis, leader of the Democracy in Europe Movement 2025 (DiEM25), on Wednesday attacked Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras for suggesting during an interview with ERT state broadcaster Tuesday that his ex finance minister was ready to cooperate with his nemesis, ex German finance minister Wolfgang Schaeuble.

Forty Greek parties to participate in EU elections
A section of Greece's Supreme Court ruled on Friday that 40 parties and coalitions will participate in the upcoming European elections on May 26.
A total of 49 parties had registered to run at the top court's prosecutor's office but nine failed to pay the required 3,000 euros fee or to present a full list of candidates.

DiEM25 starts crowdfunding campaign ahead of Greek party launch
The Democracy in Europe Movement 2025 (DiEM25), founded by former Greek finance minister Yanis Varoufakis, has started a crowdfunding campaign ahead of launching a fully-fledged Greek political party on March 26.
