Over ten individuals, including organized soccer fans, have been arrested as part of an ongoing police operation targeting a drug trafficking ring in Athens, which began early Thursday morning.

The Greek police has recently, and belatedly, gained access to the full trove of data from two, now defunct, communications networks used heavily by criminals due to their encrypted communications capabilities.

A new police directorate, specifically tasked to fight organized crime, will be created, probably before the end of the year, officials say.

A major security breach has taken place within the EU police service - Europol, as detailed by the online publication 'POLITICO'. The report specifies that confidential documents belonging to high-ranking officials of the institution have gone missing, leading to a crisis within the organization.

In its report, the Committee called on Interior Minister Filip Adzic, head of the Police Directorate Nikola Terzic and regional police directors to actively promote a culture change within law enforcement agencies.

The Special State Prosecution said the arrest of Bozovic and unnamed persons from Budva, Cetinje and the capital Podgorica, was organised with the support of the European police agency EUROPOL.

The government appointed two new interim police directors, Nikola Terzic and Predrag Sukovic, who will be in charge of contact with the European police agency Europol.

Milovic said this startling info was presented to the former government at an official meeting but did not name the three officers or their ranks.
