European Commission approves payment of 25.3 mln euros to Greece for Storm Daniel
The European Commission on Tuesday approved an advance payment of 25.3 million euros to Greece under the European Solidarity Fund (EUSF), "to ease the financial burden of reconstruction efforts" caused by Storm Daniel, a deadly cyclone that hit the country in September 2023.
Bulgaria to Receive Disaster Aid of EUR 6.3 M
Bulgaria is to receive EUR 6.3 M in EU aid for coping with the damage caused by the floods in January and February 2015.
The aid is part of a EUR 16.3 M package for repairing damage to public and private infrastructure in Bulgaria and Greece caused by the severe weather conditions early in 2015.
Bulgaria is to receive EU aid of EUR 6.3 M, while Greece is to get EUR9.9 M.

Three-quarters of this sum will go to Serbia as the worst-affected.

Bulgaria 'Has Not Demanded EU Help for Floods' - Commissioner
Sofia has not issued a request to receive technical assistance from the EU, Kristalina Georgieva, the Commissioner in charge of crisis response, said Monday.
Georgieva wrote on Facebook that no such demand had been received, as authorities decided "they could handle [the situation] alone".
Bulgaria to Seek EU Solidarity Fund Aid for Flood-Stricken Mizia
Bulgaria will seek help from the European Solidarity Fund in overcoming the consequences of the disastrous floods which hit northwestern Bulgarian town of Mizia, Saturday night.
The damage evaluation will start on Monday, Nikolay Nikolov, head of the Chief Directorate Fire Safety and Civil Protection told Bulgarian National Radio (BNR).
