Inflation: 2.4% in Greece in June – 2.5% in the Eurozone

Annual inflation in Greece was maintained at 2.4% in June, according to data released today (2/7) by the European Statistical Office (Eurostat).

Eurozone annual inflation was 2.5% in June from 2.6% in May, confirming analysts’ estimates, according to a flash estimate by Eurostat, the European Union’s statistical office.

ELSTAT – Public debt reached 354 billion euros in the second half of 2021

The public debt reached 354 billion euros at the end of the second quarter of 2021, according to ELSTAT calculations.

Therefore, its upward trend continues, as at the end of the first quarter of 2021 the corresponding amount was 344.1 billion euros, while in the first quarter of 2020 it was 333.842 billion euros.

OECD: Favorable trend until 2060

Q1 unemployment at 17.1%

Unemployment reached 17.1% in the first quarter of 2021, according to data from the Hellenic Statistical Authority.

The unemployment rate in the previous quarter (Q4 2020) and in the corresponding quarter of the previous year (Q1 2020) was 16.2%.

Romania lagging behind in EU in terms of households expenditure on eating-out

In 2018, Romania's households allocated only 1.9 percent of their total consumption expenditure for catering services, i.e. restaurants, cafes, bars and tea houses, the lowest percentage among the member states and three times less than the European Union average of 7 percent, according to the European Statistical Office (Eurostat) data.
