Tanja Ivic, the mother of the first Serb football player invited to play for a national Kosovo team, told BIRN on Monday that she has been fired from her job at the Serb-run Pristina Cultural Education Centre in the Kosovo town of Gracanica as a result.
Kosovo Karate Team Plans Complaint Over Serbia Ban
Kosovo's karate team says it will complain to the IOC over the ban on the team entering Serbia to compete in the European Karate Championship in Novi Sad, northern Serbia, on May 10-13.
The retaliatory move came days after the Football Federation of Kosovo refused to allow Serbia's Red Star to play a match in the mainly ethnic Serbian town of Gracanica on May 9.

BELGRADE - Football Federation of Kosovo (FFK) will have to pay 30,000 Swiss francs due to the improper conduct of fans at a match against Croatia.
Kosovo and Croatian fans chanted "Kill the Serb" during the match in a World Cup qualifier, played on 6 October in Skadar, Albania.
Russia to ask UEFA on separating its team from Kosovo at tournaments' draws
BELGRADE - The Russian Football Union (RFU) plans to submit a request with UEFA asking the organization to separate the country's national team from the Kosovar team during the draw procedures of the European tournaments, RFU President Vitaly Mutko told TASS on Thursday.
Kosovo becomes 210th member of FIFA
BELGRADE - The Football Federation of Kosovo has joined the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), TASS reports. The decision was made following a vote at FIFA's congress underway in Mexico City.
A total of 141 votes were given for Kosovo's membership in FIFA, 23 were against.
The Football Federation of Kosovo has thus become FIFA's 210th member.

FIFA rejects FSS objection
BELGRADE - The Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) rejected the objection filed by the Football Association of Serbia (FSS) which requested that the decision be revoked according to which the Kosovo team is allowed to play friendly matches.
