Gülhane Military Hospital

Followers of U.S.-based Islamic preacher Fethullah Gülen sabotaged the health of pilots in the army by giving them unnecessary heart pills, according to a prosecutor's indictment regarding Gülenist activities at the Gülhane Military Hospital (GATA).

Twelve militants of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) were killed during ongoing operations in two southeastern Turkish provinces on April 28, the Turkish military stated on April 29.

A soldier who was heavily wounded during clashes between the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and Turkish security forces succumbed to his injuries on April 29 in the southeastern province of ??rnak. 

Gendarmerie Specialized Sergeant Turan Çelik was wounded during security operations on April 26. 

One police officer was killed and two others were wounded in an outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) bomb attack in the Varto district on April 27.

PKK militants detonated an explosive placed on the road during the passing of an armored police vehicle. Three police officers were wounded in the attack.

Fifteen Iraqi Turkmens suffering burns and other injuries after an Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) chemical attack earlier this month began their medical treatment March 24 in the Turkish capital of Ankara.   

A Turkish soldier was killed in an attack launched by the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in the southeastern province of Mardin on Oct. 1, while a police officer previously injured in a PKK attack succumbed to his injuries at a hospital in Ankara.
