Munich – President Borut Pahor took part in a panel debate on the Western Balkans at the Munich Security Conference on Sunday, arguing the EU enlargement process should be stepped up and offering the EU as the answer to all the issues troubling the region.

An internal German Defence Ministry report has revealing the practice of sexual rituals in the country’s armed forces has caused a firestorm. According to Spiegel magazine, the report describes a female soldiers being forced by her trainers to perform a pole dance while being touched in private areas.

The military force, which Germany plans to send to Syria to fight the Islamic State group, won't  cooperate with Syrian government troops, a German Defence Ministry spokesman has said.

"There will be no cooperation with [Syrian President Bashar] al-Assad and there will be no cooperation with troops loyal to al-Assad," Jens Flosdorff said, according to DPA.
