President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's presence at the U.N. General Assembly, calling it a "shame."

Speaking at the Turkish House in New York, Erdoğan said, "It is truly a source of shame that a criminal, who committed genocide in Palestine, can take his place under the roof of the U.N."

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan criticized Israel on Thursday for its refusal to adopt a two-state solution and warned that the unresolved Palestinian issue poses a risk to regional stability.

"We cannot wait for the goodwill of Israel to implement the two-state solution," Fidan stated.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said Wednesday that his country stands by Lebanon as he urged the international community to take steps against Israel, according to a statement.  

Bulgaria supports the United Nations' mission to ensure that development policies, rather than military conflicts, determine humanity's future, President Rumen Radev affirmed during a meeting with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres in New York.

International calls for de-escalation of the conflict between Israeli forces and Hezbollah intensified on Wednesday, as the Israeli Chief of Staff announced preparations for a potential ground invasion into Lebanon. Hezbollah said it had fired a ballistic missile at the Israeli city of Tel Aviv on Wednesday, with Israel launching more air strikes on Lebanon after its military intercepted the unprecedented launch.

Israeli warplanes pounded villages in south Lebanon for a third day, Lebanese media reported Wednesday, while Israel said it intercepted a missile fired after sirens sounded early morning in Tel Aviv.

Lebanese officials said hundreds of thousands of civilians have fled their homes in the south this week to avoid fighting between Hezbollah and the Israeli military.

US President Joe Biden, in his final address to the UN General Assembly, emphasized the need for continued support for Ukraine in its defense against the Russian invasion, declaring that "Putin's war has failed at his core aim." Biden reiterated his commitment to helping Kyiv achieve a durable peace, while much of the conference centered on the tensions in West Asia.

Türkiye issued a strong condemnation of Israel on Tuesday in response to its criticism of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's recent meeting with International Criminal Court (ICC) Prosecutor Karim Khan.

In a statement, Türkiye's Foreign Ministry described Israel's remarks as an attempt to "cover up the genocide it is committing."

World leaders lined up at the United Nations on Tuesday to call on Israel to refrain from a full-scale war in Lebanon, with the organization's chief warning the situation was on the "brink.

The U.N. General Assembly, the high point of the international diplomatic calendar, comes after Lebanese authorities said Israeli strikes had killed 558 people — 50 of them children.
