Turkish police detained 15 Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) militants in simultaneous raids in Istanbul on Oct. 29, in an escalation of anti-terror operations against ISIL following the twin suicide bomb blasts in Ankara earlier this month. 

At least 44 suspects, including local heads of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), were detained in a pre-dawn "anti-terror" police operation in Istanbul on Oct. 2.

The Istanbul Police Department Counterterrorism Unit launched a pre-dawn operation in Istanbul on July 10, with at least 30 arrest warrants against people allegedly helping the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) recruit people from Europe.

An Italian passenger has been taken into quarantine after falling ill during a flight between Kano, Nigeria and Istanbul’s Atatürk airport on Aug. 22.

The 23-year-old woman reportedly had a fever before she boarded the plane in the northern Nigerian city, but local doctors allowed her to board the Turkish Airlines flight after they diagnosed her with Malaria.

A Nigerian woman, who was taken to the hospital on the suspicion being inflicted by the Ebola virus, left Turkey after leaving the hospital Aug. 14, as doctors diagnosed her with Malaria.
