Thessaloniki police seize 8.6 kg of heroin, make one arrest
Authorities in northern Greece are investigating a drug trafficking gang following the arrest of a 27-year-old woman and the seizure of nearly 8.6 kilograms of heroin.
No recognition for officers that cracked ‘heist of century’
The leadership of the Hellenic Police (ELAS) has reportedly refused to appropriately honor the officers that in summer 2021 found intact two world-famous paintings that had been stolen nine years earlier from the National Gallery in Athens.
Crooked officers suspended after probe
A police officer and a special guard who were arrested on drugs-related offenses have been suspended, the Hellenic Police announced on Tuesday.
An internal administrative inquiry was also ordered for the two policemen, who serve at precinct in southern suburbs of Athens.

Suspected church thieves nabbed at port after fleeing island

Police arrest two alleged terror plotters
The Hellenic Police said Tuesday that in a coordinated operation with the country's National Intelligence Service (EYP), they had "dismantled a terrorist network that, guided from abroad, was planning attacks against carefully selected targets within Greece."

Police bust Athens-Kalamata drug racket
A joint operation between the police's drug unit in Athens and its security division in Kalamata, southern Greece, had led to the dismantling of a drug racket worth at least 350,000 euros, the Hellenic Police (ELAS) said in a press release on Tuesday.
