How will the train reach the industrial area and the port of Volos
The new railway connections in Magnesia are under the microscope of the Hellenic Railways Organization (OSE) with the aim of reaching the train in the three Industrial Areas (INDUSTRIES), the port of Volos and the airport of Nea Anchialos.
No public transport except for buses on Thursday due to nationwide strike action
Most means of public transport will pause for a day on Thursday as workers participate in the 24hr nationwide strike, called by the country's umbrella trade union federations, in protest of the government's labor omnibus bill.
Proastiakos introduces social distancing measures
Railway company TrainOSE has updated its electronic ticketing system to support social distancing on trains, officials said during a press briefing on safety measures to prevent Covid-19 infection during travel.
The company operates suburban railways, known in Greece as Proastiakos, as well as intercity passenger services.

Train derails near Patra; no injuries reported
A train derailed near the the western Greek city of Patra on Friday, but no one was injured.
According to reports, the train was traveling from Kato Achaia and derailed just before the central Patra station.
