Disposable income falls 5.5 bln euros in 2015

Households saw their disposable income shrink by 5.5 billion euros last year, compared to 2014, according to data issued by the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT), illustrating that Greek families suffered a major drop in income while the SYRIZA-Independent Greeks government was negotiating changes to the bailout program with the creditors.

Greek deflation slows in October

Greece's headline consumer price index fell by 0.5 percent year-on-year last month, with the annual pace of deflation slowing from -1.0 percent in September, Hellenic Statistical Authority data showed on Thursday.

This is the 44th consecutive month of deflation for the Greek economy.

Vehicle registrations rise 20 pct y-o-y in October

The number of new and used vehicles put into circulation for the first time rose last month to 9,479, showing a 20-percent rise from October 2015's figure of 7,897, the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) reported on Tuesday.

ELSTAT said that the increase comes after a dip of 13.8 percent between October 2015 and October 2014.

Disposable incomes keep shrinking

Households' disposable income fell again in the second quarter of the year compared to the same period in 2015, while consumer spending recorded a decline too. In contrast, investments posted a steady rise year-on-year, Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) figures showed on Wednesday.
