The competitiveness of the Greek economy is almost stable

Greece's position in terms of competitiveness fell by just one position compared to last year, according to data from Swiss-based International Institute for Management Development (IMD) published today. The country is now in 47th place in the relevant ranking, falling from 46th place last year, among 63 countries.

The decline continues

When it comes to economic competitiveness, Greece's continuous financial strife has sent it even further down world rankings.

According to this year's World Competitiveness Yearbook (WCY), which ranks and assesses the competitiveness of 63 countries, Greece only managed to reach 57th place on the chart.

Slovenia among biggest gainers in IMD competitiveness rankings

The improvement in Slovenia's ranking on the index compiled by the Swiss-based International Institute for Management Development (IMD) came on the back of better economic performance and government efficiency, although the country continued to be held back by a number of pre-existing limitations.
