Gunmen attack police base in Mali capital

Gunmen attacked a military police base early Tuesday in the Malian capital Bamako where gunfire and explosions were heard and the airport was closed, sources said.

"This morning armed men attacked at least one military police base in Bamako. They have not been formally identified," a police source told AFP on condition of anonymity.

Ten gets aggravated life sentence for 2015 Ankara bombing

Ten defendants were sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment on July 1 in the trial over the 2015 ISIL bomb attack that targeted a crowd gathered in front of the capital Ankara's train station for a rally.

Russia says killed ISIL militants planning attack on Moscow synagogue

Russia's FSB security service said Thursday it had killed ISIL militants who were planning a "terrorist attack" on a Moscow synagogue, Russian state news agencies reported.

The FSB said an ISIL cell based in Kaluga, southwest of Moscow, had been planning to shoot Jewish worshippers at a synagogue in the capital.

Nine ISIL members caught in simultaneous ops

The gendarmerie have detained nine ISIL members during simultaneous operations in the capital Ankara, Istanbul and the southern province of Adana.

Under the coordination of the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office terror crimes investigation bureau, provincial gendarmerie launched an investigation against ISIL members who entered Türkiye illegally.

ISIL’s so-called ‘education centers’ busted in Ankara

Police have busted some houses that ISIL terrorists had converted into so-called "sharia education centers" in the capital Ankara within the scope of simultaneous operations and detained some 17 terrorists.

During the operations, the provincial counterterrorism team seized piles of digital materials and banned publications with propaganda content.
