Police detains 10 ISIL terror suspects

Turkey detained 10 suspects linked to the ISIL terror group in Ankara, security sources said on Jan. 29.

Anti-terror police carried out raids at the addresses of suspects, said sources, who asked not to be named due to restrictions on speaking to the media.

The suspects were in contact with people in conflict zones and were plotting terrorist attacks, according to the police.

Ankara condemns terrorist attack in Burkina Faso

Turkey on Jan. 22 condemned a terrorist attack which killed at least 36 civilians in Burkina Faso.

"We are saddened to receive the news that many people lost their lives and were injured in a terrorist attack on a market in a village in the central-northern province of Sanmatenga of Burkina Faso," Turkey's Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Teenage ISIS bride from Germany captured in Mosul

A 16-year-old German Islamic State bride, who reportedly joined the jihadist group after being radicalised online, has been captured by Iraqi forces in the ruins of Mosul.

Linda Wenzel, from the small town of Pulsnitz, near Dresden, was discovered by troops with a group of 20 other suspected foreign female Isil members in a tunnel under the Old City on Thursday.

Nearly 190 ISIL suspects arrested in June

Nearly 190 Islamic State Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) suspects were arrested in nationwide counterterrorism operations across Turkey in June, according to information from security officials. 

Security announcements showed that 20 of 188 ISIL suspects, including foreigners, were remanded in custody to face trial on a variety of charges. 

35 ISIL suspects detained across Turkey

Anti-terrorism police in Istanbul detained 35 people suspected of links to the Islamic State Iraq and Levant (ISIL) on Feb. 22, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.

The suspects were taken into custody following simultaneous raids on 41 homes in two low-income Istanbul neighborhoods.

There was no information on the suspects or their nationalities.
