Istanbul, Türkiye's financial and commercial capital, is experiencing a revival in congress tourism this year, with dozens of international events planned for 2023.

The number of business congresses held in Istanbul increased 280 in the past decade, creating around $190 million income, according to the head of the Istanbul Convention and Visitors Bureau (ICVB). 

Istanbul hosted a total of 130 international congresses last year and 97 events are planned for this year, said ICVB's Özgül Özkan Yavuz. 

Organized by the European Design Organization in a different European city each year, the ninth edition of European Design Conference and Awards Ceremony was held in Istanbul on May 23 2015. At the Award Ceremony the European Design Agency Award, ED-Awards Best of Show and ED-Awards Jury Prize were presented.

A new website, Istanbul?s first official digital promotional platform, has gone online, created as a result of the Istanbul Governor?s Office?s ?Digital Platform Project.?

According to the website?s management, the Istanbul Convention and Visitors Bureau, ?howtoistanbul.com? has been is designed to bring together all services available in the city under one roof.
