Russia, Iran, Turkey to continue cooperation against ISIL in Syria

Russia, Turkey, and Iran on July 8 agreed to continue working together to combat terrorism and condemned the increasing terrorist activities in various parts of Syria, according to a joint statement by the representatives of the three guarantor countries released after the 16th international meeting on Syria in Astana format.

St. Petersburg metro attack: ‘Bomb’ found in city raid

An explosive device has been made safe in a flat in St Petersburg by Russian police, three days after a suspected bomber on the city’s metro killed 13 people.

A city official said several suspects were held when police raided the flat early on Thursday, Ria Novosti said.

Neighbours were moved away and witnesses said three men were led out in handcuffs, the news agency added.

Jaish al-Fatah Assumes Responsibility for Assassination of Russian Ambassador

The armed coalition Jaish al-Fatah has assumed responsibility for the assassination of the Russian Ambassdor in Ankara, reported BNR.

Jaish al-Fatah includes the renamed grouping Jabhat al-Nusra -the Syrian branch of the international terrorist network al-Qaeda.

Police in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır have revealed a list of codes used by al-Qaeda militants in Turkey to communicate with militants in conflict areas, as they worked to uncover details of a 2015 attack on a party rally in southeastern Turkey which killed four people and wounded 210 others.
