'Scent and the City:' Smelling an exhibition in Istanbul

It's hard to imagine that scent takes the crown as the most powerful of the five senses, while most often the other four are given credit in various narratives from arts and literature to history and travel. A recent exhibition by Koç University's Research Center for Anatolian Civilizations (ANAMED) will hopefully help restore smellscape as a distinctive space for historical and cultural debate

Experiencing Istanbul's 'Everyday Sounds'

From the typical shouts of the simit sellers perched on their corners to the nostalgic carriages of the Prince's Islands off Istanbul's Marmara coast, Koç University's Research Center for Anatolian Civilizations (ANAMED) is offering its visitors a chance to explore the everyday sounds of Istanbul often lost to the listener through repetition or reflexive noise reduction.

Exhibition marks World War I anniversary

Koç University's Research Center for Anatolian Civilizations (RCAC) has opened a new exhibition, "Propaganda and War, The Allied Front During The First World War," to mark the 100th anniversary of the Great War.

The exhibition displays selected historical objects and archival documents of Ottoman artifacts and memorabilia from World War I from the Ömer M. Koç Collection.
