A Turkish truck driver reported finding two young men in the trailer of his truck on Thursday while parked for a break in the Thesprotia region of northwestern Greece. One of the men was later confirmed dead by police.

In Burgas, a pit bull without a muzzle attacked a woman and fatally injured her small dog, a pinscher. The incident occurred on Monday in one of the central districts. The pit bull, walked by a young man, knocked the woman down before attacking her pet, which died instantly. The man fled the scene after the attack.

A secondary school in the city of Hania in Crete was evacuated Thursday morning after an anonymous caller said a bomb had been placed in the building.

Following protocols, the school was immediately evacuated, state broadcaster ERT said.

Local police are investigating.

A 22-year-old man died on the island of Andros on Friday when the quad bike he was riding, driven by his father, fell into a ravine.

The accident happened around 10:30 a.m. The rented quad, veered off the road from Batsi to Chora and fell into a ravine five meters deep.

The father sustained an arm injury, while the son suffered a head injury.

Emma Ramsey, a 19-year-old law student from Strathclyde University, died early on the morning of August 20 after falling from the sixth-floor balcony of her hotel in San Antonio, a resort town in northwest Ibiza. Local police are treating her death as an accident, though investigations into the exact cause are ongoing, according to the Guardian.

An eight-year-old girl has drowned in a swimming pool in a campsite in the Halkidiki peninsula in the north of the country.

The incident occurred in the coastal town of Kriopigi.

In the southwestern German city of Mannheim, a tragic incident unfolded as a 29-year-old police officer lost his life following a violent attack during an anti-Islam rally. The officer was fatally stabbed by a knife-wielding assailant, who targeted several individuals participating in the demonstration organized by Pax Europa, a group advocating against radical Islam.

Police said on Friday it had found parts of a man's body inside a garbage bag tossed in a park in Ioannina, a city in northwestern Greece. 

The bag contained the head, hands and legs of the unknown man, while a gun was held in one of his hands, state-run broadcaster ERT reported, citing police sources. 

It also said handcuffs were found near the bag.
