Attica Fire Victims to Receive Support: Mitsotakis Leads Interministerial Meeting to Implement 14 Measures
The Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, in collaboration with all relevant Ministries, is activating the framework of state aid to support the areas of Attica affected by the August 11, 2024, fire. Some of these measures also apply to other areas impacted by fires during the summer of 2024.

Fire breaks out in Epirus; Severe fire risk forecast for Monday
A wildfire broke out Sunday in a forested area in Tsamantas, Thesprotia in the northern region of Epirus.
Strong firefighting forces have been deployed to the scene, including ground crews, five aircraft and a helicopter.
High fire risk on Tuesday
The risk of fire will be very high (category 4) in large parts of the country on Tuesday, according to the relevant forecast map of the General Secretariat of Civil Protection of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection (civilprotection.gov.gr).
The regions designated as high-risk are colored orange on the map.

High risk of fires tomorrow in Attica, Boeotia, Evia, Fthiotida, and the Peloponnese
The next few days are all expected to be very dangerous for the outbreak of wildfires that could very easily and quickly get out of control due to the extreme weather conditions.
Very high risk of fire for Crete and seven islands
Crete, as well as parts of the northern and southern Aegean, faces a very high risk of fire on Saturday, the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection has said.
On the ministry's fire risk forecast map for Saturday, Chios, Crete, Ikaria, Kalymnos, Karapathos, Kos, Rhodes and Samos are all marked orange, the second-highest fire-risk category.

Very high fire risk on Saturday in Crete and the North & South Aegean regions
Very high fire risk (risk category 4) is predicted tomorrow in the region of Crete and in areas of the North and South Aegean regions, according to the Fire Risk Prediction Map issued by the General Secretariat for Civil Protection of the Ministry of Climate Crisis & Civil Protection.
Specifically, a very high risk of fire tomorrow is predicted for the following areas:
Explosive cocktail of heat and drought on Friday – Very high fire risk
A very high risk of fire (risk category 4) is predicted tomorrow in the Regional Units of Evros and Rodopi, as per the Fire Risk Prediction Map issued by the General Secretariat of Civil Protection of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection.
Additionally, temperatures will rise significantly on Friday, reaching the 40s in even more areas.
