Greek books at the 72nd Frankfurt International Book Fair
With more than 800 book titles, 14 publishers, 6 events, 4 authors, professional and literary meetings, Greece participates in the 72nd Frankfurt International Book Fair which takes place this year with a physical presence at the Frankfurt Messe Exhibition Center, from 20 to 24 October 2021 .
Visitors to get free Wi-Fi at Greek museums and archaeological sites
Twenty of the largest archaeological sites and museums in Greece will gradually gain access to advanced broadband services after the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry of Interior and a mobile operator. The total deal is expected to cost €2 million with the aim of utilising technology to better showcase and promote the vast Greek cultural heritage and history.
Greece denies report on Parthenon Marbles
The Ministry of Culture and Sports has denied a report published in Britain's Independent newspaper Tuesday that it had called for the return of the Parthenon Marbles, also known as the Elgin Marbles, from the British Museum as a symbolic gesture against anti-democratic forces that seek "the dissolution of Europe."

Geo-archeological project finds treasure-trove of antiquities at Methoni
Marine geophysicists from the Laboratory of Marine Geology and Physical Oceanography at the University of Patras conducted a marine geophysical and hydrographic survey off Methoni, Greece, in the Peloponnese. The survey was conducted under the auspices of the Greek Ephorate of Underwater Antiquities (Ministry of Culture and Sports), with support from Kongsberg Maritime.

The Field Museum in Chicago, USA, announced that it will open “The Greeks: From Agamemnon to Alexander the Great” in November.

Soccer fan succumbs to injuries; ministry suspends weekend events
A 47-year-old soccer fan who was undergoing treatment at a military hospital in Athens after sustaining serious head injuries during a scuffle at a soccer match on the island of Crete earlier this month died early Monday morning.
