The Bulgarian proposal for the "Oscar" is the film "Blaga's Lessons”
The Bulgarian proposal for the Oscars is Stefan Komandarev's film "Blaga's Lessons".
The decision of the selection committee was made unanimously, reports the National Film Center.
The film recently received the big "Crystal Globe" award for the best film at the Karlovy Vary festival, as well as a statuette for the best female role of Eli Skorcheva.
Golden Rhyton Fest: Latest Films Online and Free from 4 to 10 December
The 25th edition of the Golden Rhyton Festival for Bulgarian Documentary and Animated Cinema will be held entirely online from 4 to 10 December 2020 on the website https://zlatenriton.bg, the organizers announced.
Twelve animated and 24 documentaries were shortlisted for the competition program.
Today is the Day of Bulgarian Cinema
On January 13, the Bulgarian film community celebrates its professional holiday. On this day in 1915, the first Bulgarian feature film "Balgaran is Gallant" was screened, so it is celebrated as a Day of Bulgarian Cinema.
The date has been approved since 2005, at the initiative of the National Film Center, for a professional holiday of the Bulgarian film community.
