Türkiye 'neutralizes' nine PKK members in Iraq, Syria

Turkish forces have neutralized nine PKK members in northern Iraq and northern Syria, the Defense Ministry announced on Nov. 22.

According to the ministry, four were targeted in the Claw-Lock Operation region in northern Iraq. An additional five were "neutralized" in the Euphrates Shield and Olive Branch operations zones in northern Syria.

Intel chief to visit main opposition HQs

Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Özgür Özel has revealed that National Intelligence Organization (MİT) chief İbrahim Kalın will visit the party headquarters this week to deliver a presentation.

The announcement comes after Kalın met with members of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) last month.

Turkish strikes 'neutralize' 37 more PKK members

Turkish security forces have "neutralized" 37 PKK members in northern Iraq and northern Syria, the Defense Ministry said on Oct. 28, as part of intensified operations in response to a recent terror attack in Ankara.

"We are determined, resolute, capable of eradicating terrorism at its source," the ministry said on X.

Turkish forces 'neutralize' 15 PKK members in north Syria

Turkish security forces have "neutralized" 15 PKK/YPG members in northern Syria near the Turkish border, the Defense Ministry announced on Oct. 27.

They were targeted in areas under Türkiye's Euphrates Shield and Peace Spring operations in northern Syria, the ministry said on X.

"Our operations will continue until the last terrorist is neutralized," the post read.

Türkiye strikes more PKK targets in Syria, Iraq after Ankara attack

Türkiye struck PKK targets in Syria and Iraq for a second day on Oct. 24 following an attack on the premises of a key defense company that killed at least five people.

The National Intelligence Organization (MİT) targeted "numerous strategic locations" used by PKK or those affiliated with the organization, state-run Anadolu Agency reported. 

Erdoğan meets KRG leader Barzani in Ankara

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with Nechirvan Barzani, the head of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), in the Turkish capital Ankara on Oct. 16.

Ahead of the meeting, Barzani held talks with Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and National Intelligence Organization (MİT) chief İbrahim Kalın.

Fidan later joined Erdoğan's reception of the KRG president.
