Turkey does not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries and will not interfere with Uganda's, said the country's ambassador to Uganda on Aug. 6.

Turkey welcomed the reopening of a strategic coastal road linking Libya's east to its west, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said on July 31.

"We welcome the official opening of the Misrata - Sirte Coastal Road on 30 July 2021, which has been closed for a long time," it said in a statement.

A high-level delegation from Turkey visited Libya on June 12 upon the instructions of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan ahead of June 14's NATO summit.

Libya will work to enable visa-free visits for Turkish nationals, the prime minister of Libya's Government of National Unity said in the Turkish capital on April 13. 

Turkey on March 10 welcomed Libya's parliament voiced confidence in the new government formed by Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh.

"We welcome the Government of National Unity, which Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh proposed to the Libyan House of Representatives on March 10, 2021," the Foreign Ministry said in a written statement.

Turkey hopes Libya's Government of National Unity (GNU) will be swiftly formed through the confidence vote session to take place on March 8, urging the historic opportunity should not be wasted for the sake of some countries' calculations and ambitions in Libya.

Libya's democratic steps based on dialogue and national consensus in the political process offered an important window of opportunity for permanent peace in the country, the Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman said on March 6.

Turkey on Feb. 5 welcomed the recent political developments in Libya as the North African country elected its interim president and prime minister to govern the country until Libyan elections in December.
