Kosovo Postpones Vote on Disputed Mine Takeover

A vote in the Kosovo Assembly intended to partially privatise the Trepca mine complex, with the government of Kosovo holding the majority of the shares, was postponed just before the start of the parliamentary session on Monday.

The mine complex was Kosovo's most profitable conglomerate during the Yugoslav period before falling into disrepair.

BELGRADE -- The Serbian Parliament Committee on Kosovo discussed on Tuesday the current security situation in the province and adopted conclusions.

The document urges the international community to act in line with its mandate and ensure security for all Serbs and other non-Albanians in Kosovo and Metohija.

PRIŠTINA -- Serbian Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija Director Marko Đurić on Wednesday conferred with Belgrade's liaison officer in Priština Dejan Pavićević.

They met in Priština and talked about "projects of mutual interest for Serb and Albanian communities in the province," reported Tanjug.
