The Herodion stage in Athens will host "The Stars Shine Under the Acropolis," a stunning ballet gala featuring top international talent. The event will showcase stars from the Paris Opera Ballet, the Royal Ballet Covent Garden, Berlin State Ballet, Wiener Staatsoper, the Royal Danish Ballet and American Ballet Theater.
First black Etoile dancer in Paris Opera
The Paris Opera on March 11 appointed 23-year old dancer Guillaume Diop to its Etoile category, the first time a black person has received the ballet's coveted top rank.

Actor Ralph Fiennes Receives Serbian Citizenship
Serbia has granted citizenship to the British actor and director Ralph Fiennes, who is filming a movie about a Soviet ballet dancing legend in Belgrade.
The latest issue of Serbia's national gazette said the decision was signed by Prime Minister Ana Brnabic on September 7, Beta news agency reports.

French dance star fuses tradition, reform as head of Russian troupe
French dance star Laurent Hilaire, the new artistic director of Moscow's renowned Stanislavsky Music Theatre ballet troupe, has vowed to expand its repertoire while preserving its rich traditions.
"This is an opera and ballet house with a certain history, culture and tradition," Hilaire, who took on the position in January, told AFP during a recent interview.
