Vujovic: Serbia's growth could exceed IMF projections

VIENNA - Serbia may achieve greater growth than the International Monetary Fund's (IMF) program projects, but it depends on the outcome of the privatization of Zelezara Smederevo and other companies, including those on the Privatization Agency's list, Serbia's Finance Minister Dusan Vujovic said Tuesday.

BELGRADE -- Of some 512 companies that are currently looking for new owners through the Privatization Agency, 188 will be declared bankrupt, Zeljko Sertic has said.

BELGRADE -- The Serbian government decided on Thursday to initiate the privatization of the steel company Zelezara Smederevo.

It opted for the model of strategic partnership through added capitalization, and the method of public bidding.

The deadline for submission of offers is January 5, 2015.

Gov't reaches decision concerning privatization of Zelezara

Serbia's government reached a decision Thursday concerning launching an initiative to privatize the Zelezara Smederevo steelworks.

The country's Privatization Agency will Friday invite all interested investors to submit their expressions of interest for participating in the privatization of Zelezara Smederevo, says a statement from today's government meeting.
