3 people killed in alleged extremist attack at Turkey’s largest courthouse

Two people attacked Turkey's largest courthouse before being shot dead Tuesday in an exchange of fire that also left one other person dead and five wounded. Authorities alleged the assailants were part of an extremist organization that had been largely inactive in recent years.

This was announced today by Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, adding that two attackers were killed.
Yerlikaya said that an attempt was made to attack the checkpoint in front of the gate at aglayan Court in Istanbul and that two attackers, a woman and a man, were killed, reports Haber Turk.

Appeals council rejects extradition of Turkish 'terror' suspect

A council of appeals court judges in Larissa, central Greece, on Tuesday rejected a request from Turkey for the extradition of Agarmis Burak, an Athens Law School student arrested in November along with another eight Turkish nationals accused by Ankara of being members of the far-left Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front (DHKP-C).

Extradition ruling put off

An Athens court on Tuesday postponed a ruling on an extradition request for the second of nine Turkish Kurds whom Ankara accuses of terrorist offenses.

The court decided to adjourn until March 6 in order to gather more information about Naci Ozpolat, 48, who testified on Tuesday along with four witnesses.

Naci Ozpolat, a 48-year-old Turkish citizen of Kurdish origin, appeared in court Tuesday. He is wanted by Turkey on charges of assisting a terrorist organization.
