One of the most favorite hashtags on social media nowadays is "#zeytinimedokunma," meaning "don't touch my olive." This is a hashtag used by everyone who is opposing a bill that will jeopardize the future of olive trees in Anatolia, which is considered the homeland of olives. 

One third of all elevators in Turkey are not safe, according to a new report prepared by the Science, Industry and Technology Ministry.

Over the course of 2015 the ministry inspected a total 3,064 elevators around the country and found that 1,012 were not fit for service. 

Turkey's leading steel making company, Tosyal? Holding, has said it will invest in the production of a special type of pipe to be used in oil and gas pipelines in a press release on Dec. 17.

"We will start our facility investment with the planned annual production of 500,000 tons in 2016 and our plan is to complete the construction in the following year," said the company.

The number of Turkey's economy-related ministries could be reduced from four to two, Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci has said, saying such a reduction could be more efficient.
