The police have arrested 16 officials of the Serbian Customs Administration, along with one "responsible person" from a company.

They are suspected of incurring damages worth in excess of EUR 11.5 million to the Serbian state budget.

The Serbian Customs Administration says it prevented at attempt to smuggle a large quantity of arms and ammunition across the eastern border with Bulgaria.

The items were found hidden in a truck entering Serbia via the Gradina border crossings.

The Serbian Customs Administration said on Wednesday that its officers had found over six kilograms of marijuana, incoming from the territory of Kosovo.

The drugs were seized at a customs checkpoint on the Merdare administrative line crossing, located between Kosovo and central Serbia.

The Serbian Customs Administration announced on Monday that its officers have seized 1.6 kilograms of gold jewelry, along with a 67-gram gold bar.

The value of the items confiscated at the Gradina border crossing between Serbia and Bulgaria has been appraised at over RSD 5 million (about EUR 40,000), the Customs said.

Nearly 300k euros found hidden in German car

BELGRADE -- The Serbian Customs Administration has announced that an attempt to smuggle EUR 274,600 was prevented on Friday at the Horgos border crossing with Hungary.

The money was found in a car with German plates, hidden in the spare tire space and in a first aid kit box.
