Interpol, Europol to Join Investigation on Murdered Boy Found in Suitcase

Interpol and Europol will assist the Bulgarian Interior Ministry in the investigation on the murdered baby boy, found in a suitcase near Bulgaria's Pasarel on Saturday.

The photo portrait of the child will be distributed to the police organizations that will provide the information to all member-states.

Bulgaria's Interior Minister Appoints New Directors of 2 Chief Directorates

Ivaylo Spiridonov has been appointed Director of the Chief Directorate "Combating Organized Crime" (GDBOP) of the Interior Ministry.

Interior Minister Veselin Vuchkov announced Spiridonov's appointment on Tuesday in an interview for the Bulgarian National Radio, adding that his previous post had been Deputy Director of the Chief Directorate "Criminal Police" of the Interior Ministry.

Police Detain 78 Illegal Immigrants at Sofia-based Hostel

Police have detained 78 illegal immigrants in an operation at a hostel in downtown Sofia.

The illegal immigrants, Iraqi and Afghanistan nationals, were detained in a joint operation of the Sofia Directorate of the Ministry of Interior and Border Police, according to reports of the Bulgarian National Television.

Some 10 illegal immigrants were sharing one room.
