Former Mayor of Mladost District in Sofia Sentenced to 20 Years of Imprisonment
The Specialised Court on 15th of April sentenced the former mayor of the metropolitan area "Mladost", Desislava Ivancheva, to 20 years in prison and a fine of 10,000 BGN and deprivation of the right to take a public post. Her deputy Bilyana Petrova was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment and a fine of 15,000 BGN.
Trial over Corpbank Siphoning Off Began, Vassilev Asks for Discontinuance
The court sitting on the case for siphoning off of more than BGN 2 and a half billion from the Corporate Commercial Bank on 28th of February continues for second day In the Specialised Court. The former banker and majority shareholder of the bank, Tzvetan Vassilev, and other 17 people are defendants in the process, charged as an organised criminal group.
Charges on CorpBank to be Sent to Court by July 20
''By July 20, Bulgaria's Prosecutor's Office will file the indictment on the siphoning off of Corporate Commercial Bank at the Specialised Court'', the Chief Prosecutor Sotir Tsatsarov told journalists on 10th of July in Bourgas, according to BNT.
