North Macedonia’s opposition rightist leads ahead of May 8 presidential poll runoff

North Macedonian presidential candidate Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova held a big lead over incumbent Stevo Pendarovski with votes counted from 99.03% of polling stations on Thursday, but both were short of the 50% backing needed to win outright.

The reason for their resignations, as the newspaper unofficially learns, are "deep and insurmountable differences with the leadership of the SNP related to the directions of action of that party, which, as the source said, are going to the right and damaging the image of the civil party, which in essence was the SNP".

Kolinda "won" in Belgrade

Miroslav Skoro won the most votes in Osijek.
Croatian media and analysts have estimated that whoever "wins" Zagreb will also be Croatia's new president, with Milanovic winning 33.33 percent of votes in Zagreb, followed by Miroslav Skoro with 23.37, and the third was Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic with 20.14 percent of the vote.

Anti-Abortion Rallies Staged in Croatian Cities

Anti-abortion campaigners joined 'Walk for Life' rallies on Saturday in three of Croatia's cities, Zagreb, Split and Zadar.

Organisers said they wanted to stage a peaceful walk with a goal of "protecting the lives of unborn children - the most vulnerable minority in Croatia and providing support to every pregnant woman".
