Cyprus budget posts surplus
The Statistical Service of Cyprus (CyStat) on Friday reported a state budget surplus of 363 million euros, or 1.3% of gross domestic product for the period of January-February 2023, according to the preliminary general government fiscal results. In the corresponding period of 2022, a surplus of €208.3 million or 0.8% of GDP had been recorded.

Slight rise in Cyprus’ unemployed
The number of unemployed people in Cyprus, as registered at District Labor Offices on the last day of February, came to 16,597, according to data published by the Statistical Service of Cyprus (CyStat) on Friday.

Cyprus had over 3.2 mln visitors in ’22
Cyprus tourism outperformed the first two years of the pandemic in 2022, but was off 19.5% from record year 2019.
For the period of January-December 2022, arrivals of tourists totaled 3,201,080, compared to 1,936,931 in the corresponding period of 2021, 631,609 in 2020 and 3,976,777 in the same period of 2019, the Statistical Service of Cyprus (CyStat) announced on Tuesday.

Fewer Cypriots visit Greece in January
The Passengers Survey of the Statistical Service of Cyprus (CyStat) showed on Tuesday that 107,759 residents of Cyprus returned to the island from a trip abroad in January compared to 108,981 in the corresponding month last year, recording a decrease of 1.1 percent.

Cyprus inflation at 0.5 pct in August
The Statistical Service of Cyprus announced on Tuesday that the Republic's Harmonized Price Index increased by 0.5 percent last month, when compared to August 2016.
In comparison with July 2017 the index showed a 1 percent inflation.
For the period January-August 2017 the price index recorded an increase of 1 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
