Marina concessions set to accelerate in coming months

Greece's privatization agency TAIPED plans to open, or reopen, bids for several marinas in the coming months. 

The most important one is the Kalamaria marina, about 7 kilometers southeast of the northern city of Thessaloniki, because it is very close to an area, the Halkidiki Peninsula, with very heavy tourist traffic and a lack of modern marinas. 

Olympic Village to obtain its own modern shopping center

The board of the Public Employment Service (DYPA) is planning to create a modern shopping center in the facilities of the Olympic Village that have sat largely unused for almost 20 years.

Located north of Athens in Thrakomakedones, the complex contains more than 2,200 houses and 10,000 residents.

Athens airport shareholders clear way for 30% stake sale, says source

Athens International Airport shareholders have given the go-ahead for the sale of a 30% stake in the country's biggest airport by privatization agency TAIPED, a senior official from the agency said on Thursday.

The state-owned Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund has hired Bank of America, Morgan Stanley and Deutsche Bank to act as advisers on the sale of its stake.

Volos port deadline for expressions of interest put back

Greece has extended by two weeks, to February 3, the deadline for expressions of interest in the sale of a majority stake in the port of Volos, the country's privatization agency TAIPED said on Wednesday.

"The granting of an extension was deemed necessary following requests from four investment schemes," the agency said in a statement without naming the investors.

GEK Terna bids with Egis for Egnatia Odos

Greece received one binding bid for the long-term Egnatia Odos highway concession in the north of the country, privatization agency TAIPED said on Friday.

The bidder was a consortium of GEK Terna with Egis Projects, the agency said in a statement, adding that it would not unseal the bid until a court ruled on an injunction filed by two consortiums.
