Army of the Orient | Thessaloniki | January 16

As part of its ongoing exhibition of drawings, maps and watercolors executed by amateur artist soldiers of the Allied Army of the Orient posted to Thessaloniki during the Great War (1914-18), the Teloglion Foundation will also screen related footage from the film archives of the French Ministry of Defense on Wednesday, January 16.

Great Gatsby Party | Thessaloniki | February 10

The Teloglion Foundation in Thessaloniki is throwing a Roaring Twenties fancy-dress party inspired by the classic F. Scott Fitzgerald novel "The Great Gatsby" on Saturday, February 10. The party starts at 7 p.m. and members of local dance group the Jitterbugs will be on hand to demonstrate the moves of the dances that were all the rage at the time. Admission costs 5 euros.

'Paris Prekas and Meropi Preka: Two Artists, Two Worlds' is a tribute put together by the Teloglion Foundation to the two multifaceted artists. The ground-floor area hosts 70 pieces by Paris Prekas (1926-99) - including his last oil paintings depicting decommissioned tankers in clean and bold colours - while on the floor above visitors can view Meropi Preka's paintings and stained glass.

The Exhibition "Art - The Macedonian Art Society: 65 Years of Collections," at the Teloglion Foundation on the grounds of Thessaloniki's Aristotle University, pays tribute to the historic cultural association by presenting some 400 paintings and engravings from its collection, underscoring its contribution to the northern port city's art scene and illustrating major milestones in the evolution

Bellydancing & Exhibition | Thessaloniki | February 17

The Teloglion Foundation has invited doyenne of the art of bellydancing Annette von Kapff (aka Gamila) to perform a special show at the inauguration of its exhibition on "Mosaic as Contemporary Art," on Friday, February 17, at 7 p.m. The exhibition, which showcases work by 40 artists from around the world, runs through April 23. Opening hours are Tuesday & Thursday 9 a.m.
