Theodora Riga new president of MedCruise

Chief Commercial Officer and Director of Strategic Communications at Thessaloniki Port Authority Theodora Riga has been elected as the new president of MedCruise.

Riga was elected during the 65th MedCruise General Assembly held in Malaga, Spain on Friday as part of Seatrade Cruise Med 2024.

Riga succeeds Figen Ayan, chief port officer at Galataport Istanbul.

East Port Said eyes Thessaloniki as gateway

The administration of East Port Said, at the northern entrance of the Suez Canal, appears to "view" the port of Thessaloniki as a potential gateway to the Balkans and Europe for perishable Egyptian goods but also for Egyptian green hydrogen in the future, according to an Athens-Macedonian News Agency interview with East Port Said General Manager Aly Assem Ibrahim on Friday.

Group under Greek-Russian Businessman Sends Aid to Ukraine Separatists

An association of Greeks in Russia led by Greek-Russian businessman Ivan Savvidis has sent cars and generators to pro-Russian separatist authorities in the eastern Ukrainian region of Donetsk, the Donetsk News Agency reported on April 10, saying that the donations would be used in providing medical aid and humanitarian assistance.
