Additional charge imposed on some gold, jewelry imports

Türkiye’s imports, exports decreased in June: Official data
Türkiye's exports were $20.9 billion in June with a 10.5 percent decrease and imports were $26.6 billion with a 17.5 percent decrease compared with June 2022, official data has showed on July 28.
1.3 mln expats enter Türkiye by land in last month

Some 400 companies fined over exorbitant prices, stockpiling
A total of 369 companies, including supermarkets, e-commerce platforms and automotive firms, have been fined 152.8 million Turkish Liras ($5.67 million) in the first six months of 2023 over exorbitant price increases, the Trade Ministry has said.
New regulation puts cap on secondhand car prices
A new regulation that puts a cap on the prices of secondhand cars traded on online platforms have been published in the Official Gazette.
The regulation stipulated that the prices of secondhand cars cannot exceed that of new cars, the Trade Ministry said in a statement.

Foreign trade in Turkish Lira up 129 percent
Türkiye's foreign trade volume in Turkish Lira has increased by 129 percent in the January-June period to 349.5 billion liras data showed from the Trade Ministry.
Exports in the local currency amounted to 94.6 billion liras in the first half of this year, while the figure was 254.9 billion liras for imports.

Turkish construction firms awarded $7.5 bln in contracts abroad
Turkish contractors were awarded a total of 110 projects worth $7.5 billion abroad in the first six months this year, the Trade Ministry has said.
This marked a 63 percent increase compared with the January-June period of 2022.
The average size of the contracts awarded to Turkish contractors in foreign countries was $68.1 billion, data from the ministry showed.
