Transport Minister Proposes Krasimir Kalaidjiev to Head Road Transport Agency ad Interim

Bulgaria's Transport Minister Ivaylo Moskovski has proposed to dismiss Tsvetelin Tsvetanov, head of the Road Transport Administration Executive Agency, who was arrested earlier this week over suspected wrongdoing in licensing procedures at the agency.

Tzvetanov's deputy, Krasimir Kalaidjiev, has been proposed to serve as interim execitive director of the government agency.

Tsvetelin Tsvetanov, chairman of Bulgaria's Road Transport Administration Executive Agency, has been detained by police in Sofia as part of a country-wide operation against suspected wrongdoing in licensing procedures at the agency, public radio broadcaster BNR reported on Wednesday.

Siemens 'eager to bid' in Turkey high speed rail tender, searching for local partners

The director of Siemens Turkey's high speed trains department has said the company plans to bid in a tender expected to be opened by the Transport Ministry to buy a total of 80 high speed trains in mid-2016. 

"We want to bid and we are evaluating the process now," said Siemens' Cüneyt Genç in an interview with Reuters.

Flooding resulting from heavy rain has blocked roads and caused power outages in several parts of Albania. In the capital, Tirana, the river has overflowed its banks and flooded dozens of houses on the outskirts.

The Coordination Committee of Civil Emergencies said large areas were submerged also in Lezha, Durres, Elbasan and Kuksi, and many families had been evacuated.

A multifunctional sports hall spanning an area of 1500 square meters is to open right next to the Sofia Central Railway Station.
The 48x30 sports hall is almost ready.

It has a separate entrance just a few meters away from the railway station.

The sports hall includes gyms, changing rooms, and coach facilities, according to reports of Darik radio.
