Turkey, Bulgaria expel respective diplomats for 'interference in domestic affairs'

Turkey has retaliated to Sofia's decision to declare a Turkish diplomat "persona non grata" by expelling Bulgarian consul Zornitsa Petrova Apostolova, causing both diplomats to leave their posts in the latest indication of heightened tensions between the neighbors following Turkey's rift with Russia over the downing of a Russian jet on Nov. 24, 2015. 

Turkey's top religious body 'motivates' successful disabled students with Umrah visit

Turkey's Directorate of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) has selected 100 successful students with disabilities for an Umrah visit, as part of a newly-launched program designed to "motivate" disabled students to perform their religious duties. 

Four Turkish citizens killed in Mecca stampede

Four Turkish citizens were killed in the huge stampede outside the Muslim holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia, where some two million people are performing the annual hajj pilgrimage.
      
According to a statement by the Hajj Administrative Center in Mecca, five Turkish citizens are still considered missing.
