Turkish Airlines carries over 57 million passengers in 8 months
The number of passengers Turkish Airlines carried in January-July increased by 2.5 percent from a year ago to 57.4 million.
The international passenger tally rose by 2.9 percent year-on-year in the first eight months to 36.3 million, while the domestic passenger tally increased 1.8 percent annually to a little more than 21 million.
Turkish Airlines to start Melbourne flights on March 15
Starting in mid-March, Turkish Airlines will launch flights from Istanbul to Melbourne, its first destination in Australia.
Three reciprocal flights will run every week between Istanbul and Melbourne with a stop in Singapore, according to a statement from Türkiye's flag carrier.
Turkish Airlines posts $233 million profit
Turkish Airlines has reported that its net income increased by nearly 45 percent year-on-year in the first quarter of 2023 to $233 million.
Total revenues of the flag carrier amounted to $4.35 billion in the January-March period, pointing to a healthy 43 percent increase from a year ago.

45 mln fly with Turkish Airlines in eight months
Turkey's national flag carrier Turkish Airlines carried 44.9 million passengers from January to August 2017, the airline has announced.
The total number of passengers carried by the airline rose 6.1 percent in the first eight months of the year over the same period in 2016, Turkish Airlines said on Sept. 15.

Millions hit the roads as 10-day Eid holiday starts
Millions of people across Turkey have started to hit the roads during a 10-day public holiday for the Eid al-Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) and Victory Day, which starts late on Aug. 25 and ends on Sept. 3.
In many tourism resorts, hotel occupancy rates have hit 100 percent.
