Turkish Airlines sees record 30.3 million passengers in first half of 2017

The number of passengers Turkish Airlines carried in the first half of the year has hit 30.3 million people -- the highest ever, according to a statement released by the airline on July 11.        

The national flag carrier said this year's number of customers in June rose by 13.5 percent, reaching 5.7 million, compared with the same period in 2016.        

Turkish Airlines posts record net profit

Turkey's national flag-carrier, Turkish Airlines, announced a record operating net profit of 2.99 billion Turkish Liras ($1.01 billion) for last year on March 1, with a 65 percent increase from a year earlier.

This was the first time the annual profit of the company exceeded $1 billion. 

The gross real operating profit stood at $895 million, another record for the company. 

Turkish Airlines cancels 84 flights over heavy rainfall, storm

Turkish Airlines has canceled a total of 84 international and domestic flights after heavy rainfall and storm warnings were issued for Istanbul. 

In an announcement released on its website, the airline said some flights scheduled for Jan. 6 and 7 had been canceled due to unfavorable weather conditions. 

Turkish Airlines Adds 4 More Weekly Flights between Sofia and Istanbul

Turkey's national flag carrier airline Turkish Airlines has announced it is increasing the number of flights it performs per week between Sofia and Istanbul.

The total number of Istanbul - Sofia - Istanbul weekly flights will be 18, up from 14, as of December 28, 2015.

Turkish Airlines has been subjected to yet another hoax bomb call, this time on a plane heading from Oslo to Istanbul.

A Turkish Airlines plane flying on Aug. 13 from Oslo to Istanbul had to make an emergency landing at Istanbul's Atatürk Airport, which was its original destination, after a bomb threat. 

Turkish Airlines carries 12.8 million in first quarter

Turkish Airlines, the country's national flag-carrier, has announced it increased its total number of passengers by 6.5 percent in the first quarter of 2015 compared to the same period of the previous year.

The total number of passengers in the first quarter of 2015 was 12.8 million compared to 12 million in January-March 2014, according to a statement from the company on April 14.
